Unexpected Treasures

Today I decided to go for one of my many picture taking walks, definately a cold blistery feet on this gloomy December day, but to get a last look of 2011 it was definately worth it. Especially since I got a little surprise at the end of my walk, but I'll save that for when I get to those photos.

When I first started on my walk, I thought my day was gonna be alot like this pumpkin...
mushy, wet, and cold.

Lets just say the cold weather and cloudy sky didn't really have me optomisitc of finding anything fantastical to take pictures of, and by the time I made it downtown to our old now abandoned movie theatre I was definately suffering from a case of seasonal depression. I mean look at these broken dirty displays, how could you not be sad?
Though I do have to admit the berry covered ivy adorning the brick, windows, and lights was very beautiful in a minimalistic sort of way.

And just as the little things along my walk started looking better and better, so did the pumpkins.

Our town is rebuilding one of it's bridges so I decided to go take a look at what was going on, and this is where I found my unexpected treasure. Right in the middle of a pile of dirt and rocks...

I found hundreds of shells!, Big ones, little ones, curly ones, flat ones, burried in the sand, it was amazing! I picked up a pocket full and brought them home. Here's some as I found them.

And that was my walk, if you want to see all the pics i took here's a link to the photobucket album, hope you all have an amazing New Years Eve!
